Lisette Hasan was born and raised in Chicago as a first generation American of
Indonesian, Dutch, Arabic and French roots. From her early childhood days, Lisette has
developed an immense passion for authentic cooking, which blossomed from learning the
cooking techniques of her Dutch/Indonesian family.
Lisette has joyously cooked Indonesian cuisine with her family in the Netherlands and
traveled to Indonesia to discover first hand, the complexity and levels of flavors in
cooking from the heart of the motherland.
Over the years, Lisette cultivated her talent for cooking various ethnic cuisines as a
home cook and personal chef. But most importantly, she developed a deep understanding
and appreciation of cooking the delicious exotic and complex flavors of Indonesian food.
Lisette is on a mission to revolutionize the asian-fusion foods you typically find
across all major metropolitan cities by introducing delicious and oftentimes “sexy” and
unforgettable dishes constructed from the freshest ingredients and spices that is
guaranteed to make an impression at home on friends and family.

In this module you are introduced to a foundation spice palette that is typically used in authentic Indonesian cuisine. There are lots of spices that are used in many traditional dishes, called “Bumbu".
In this module you’ll learn how to cook and plate one of chef Lisette's favorite Indonesian dishes of all time, which is pork satay (or Satay Babi in Indonesian), a staple in authentic Indonesian cuisine.
In this module you’ll learn how to master another Indonesian classic. Nasi goreng which means fried rice in Indonesian. A timeless but elevated dish that will make a memorable eating experience.
In this module we are going to prepare a popular dish in Indonesia called Rendang. Rendang is a savory, exceptionally tasty slow cooked beef stew in a coconut curry. It’s a pro-level dish that is guaranteed to create a wow experience.
In this module you’ll learn how to prepare an authentic Indonesian dessert - Pisang Goreng (or banana fritters). These are luscious sweet delights that are crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside.
